SLJ Offering a Helping Hand

if I was alive in the 1930's I would of been like the old robin hood, Steal from the rich then give to the poor and if I was the queen I would tell my cook to cook for for the poor and I would tell my tailor to make clothes for the poor just to help the poor.

SLJ Crossing the Tasman

                            my poem

In 1928 there were 4 men who flew.
They went from OZ to NZ and that was something new.
T.H. McWilliams was from New Zealand.
His job was to operate the radio in the airplane.
Unfortunately the radio stopped after take-of.
My heart started beating fast and then I started to cough.
The weather was rainy and the ice was so heavy.
Kingford smith, The pilot couldn't see in front of me.
Luckily the plane made it all the way across.
Landing in CHCH 14 hrs was rough.
We made it thru the Tasman from OZ to NZ.
I'm not going on that plane again.
                             THE END

I rate the painting a 4 because to me it looks ok.

SLJ Popular Culture – The Silent Movie

I think the movie was about going on adventures looking for gold? I don't think I would enjoy watching a silent movie because I wouldn't be able to understand or know what they are saying.

SLJ In Flanders Fields

this poem made me fell happy and it made me love New Zealand more. It is sad that people died in war but life goes on. The people who past should be proud of themselves because they fought in war just to save our country. We should be grateful that they fought for our country.

SLJ The Right to Vote

I don't think it is fair that women can't vote in Saudi Arabia until 2015 because women deserve to be treated like men and men aren't the only one's who live on earth so why should they be able to vote?

SLJ Musical Festivals – Matatini

I give the Tamatea Arikinui performance a 2 because it was grate and I loved how they sang. I couldn't watch the second one because it was copyright so I give it a 1 for not letting me watch it. I give the Te Puku o Te Ika performance a 3 because I loved how they sang as well and because they danced to a man who past away I think.

SLJ Playing Games

the game I chose was connect four. The purpose of this game is that it can help you get better skills and it makes your brain think a lot. To play connect four you must know the rules of course , rule one you have to have someone to play connect four and rule two you have to make four in a row so you can win the game.

SLJ Waka Ama

I would like to be in a waka ama race because it can help me learn how to waka. I like being on the water, it helps me get big mussels and I love racing.

SLJ Setting Sail

If I lived in a different country or island and I went in a waka to sail to another country I would of felt nervous and scared because It would be good and bad to meet new people who are different from me. The good side of people are they could welcome me to their country and the bad side of people could be dangerous and not welcome me to their country. They could have food that I never ate before and they might have a different law if they do have a law.

SLJ The First Settlers

Māui was clever to hide in the boat while his brothers didn't know he was in the boat. Māui's  karakia was good luck for Māui's brothers. Māui was good at fishing because he caught a big fish and there also is a some stories called Māui and the sun, How Māui brought fire to the world, and how Māui found his mother there are lots of more stories about Māui but these are the only ones I know.
