SLJ Crossing the Tasman

                            my poem

In 1928 there were 4 men who flew.
They went from OZ to NZ and that was something new.
T.H. McWilliams was from New Zealand.
His job was to operate the radio in the airplane.
Unfortunately the radio stopped after take-of.
My heart started beating fast and then I started to cough.
The weather was rainy and the ice was so heavy.
Kingford smith, The pilot couldn't see in front of me.
Luckily the plane made it all the way across.
Landing in CHCH 14 hrs was rough.
We made it thru the Tasman from OZ to NZ.
I'm not going on that plane again.
                             THE END
